My family left this morning. Sigh. Now I´ll tell you a bit more about what we did, so you know where I can take you when you come to visit.

After my aunt and cousin arrived we spent two days in Caracas before going to Maracaibo. I would have wanted to stay longer in Caracas, cause I thought it would be a more interesting place than Maracaibo and that there would be more things to do. So what we did was: On the first day we went to Parque del Este (spelling?), and in the evening we ate in a chinese restaurant, where I used to go for cheep beers with Kasia, Demetrio, and Jeff, when I was living in Caracas. The food was actually really good, so we went back to the same place the day after. The second day we went to Bellas Artes, where there is another park, a museum, and street vendors who sell neckleses, ear rings etc. We visited the museum and bought some souvenirs. In the evening we met up with Demetrio (the guy I met on the plane coming to Caracas almost exactly six months ago), had some beers, and then my cousin Verneri and I went out to a really cool bar with him. Ulla, my sister, wasn´t feeling so well so she stayed at home with my aunt. By the way "home" refers to the place where Kasia and I stayed our first mont (and two months in Kasia´s case) in Caracas. Jeff was kind enough to let us use his room while he was away and Angela (a new Austalian girl who now occupies the room where Kasia and I used to stay) let us use her room.

So, about the bar where we went in the evening - Suka. It is situated in the San Ignacio shopping mall, where I used to work. It´s a really expensive bar but a nice one. They music wasn´t the typical mix of merengue, salsa, and reggaeton, instead they played electronic music and the place was packed. In one conrner there was a big net, kind of like a hammock, and Demtrio told us that the net is from the movie Peter Pan (with Robin Williams), the net from the house of the lost boys. Kind of cool. Another interesting detail (for me at least) was that when we retured to Maracaibo and I told my DJ student about the place he told me that he used to spin records there and thet it is one of the best places in Caracas. Small world.

Then we came to Maracaibo and I´ll have to tell you about what we did here another time cause my internet time is up and I have to get to work.

Hello Elina,

in the end or in the beginning of the year it is time to recollect last year, here we go I try my best.

On 4th of January 2006 I have joined the Czech military as a legal adviser at military police unit. It was hard decision to leave the real law which I had studied but on the other side I did not like sitting in front of the computer whole days. My chief promised and I hope that I will get a chance to work abroad which I like. I will see.

Lenka has successfully finished the University of Agriculture and got the title engineer in the end of June. She has been working as a civil servant in the Ministry of industry and trade since beginning of September, exactly in CzechInvesth which is investment and business development agency. One of their services is implementing development programs, which support the Czech business with money from EU.

In July I took part on 3 weeks language course leaded by USA National Guard from Nebraska. Very nice people, very good experience and I hope I improved my bad English at least a little bit. In the spring and in the autumn a spent always one week in Germany by the intervention’s police unit. It was great experience with very friendly people, I hope I will have chance to stay with them in the close touch.

I went back to Greifswald (Germany) for few days in September to see all old places and all people who I studied or work with, where I spent two nice years of my life, which I spent there. It was quite sentimental to see it after 3 years.

In April we made a decision to buy an older flat in Prague and we also took a mortgage together. It was not easy decision but I hope the right one. We have been living together since July. I proposed to Lenka´s hand and she surprisingly say yes, so we are since the beginning of December engaged.
.
After many years we spent our holiday in the Czech Republic. One week we stood at the cottage with my grandmother, one week at the sport camp with the friends and one week in the mountains for skiing. Lenka spent three weeks at children camp as an instructor in July.

This year (2007) I should be sanded to USA for 5 months. First I should take part on language course in Texas (around 10 weeks) and after that I should pass the basic law course in JAG University (10 weeks course). I hope Lenka will spend most of the time with me. At the end we would like to travel a little bit to see people, some sights and nature of USA.
The final decision will be made in the end of March. Until this I am studding English hard :), Lenka as well :).

Mostly people wish lot of health and good luck in New Year. Both wishes are very important value, but in my opinion, mostly we can not influence them. They are involved in our fate. Our life is still in hurry at the time and we do not appreciate common thing, we are hardly ever satisfied, we do not enjoy life. Not everybody of course. We misused „substitute“ like TV, computer and we are not able to create our own activity and loose need and knowledge of communication and knowledge of sharing our lives each other. We stopped looking for „content“, contrariwise, we are concentrated on „coulisses“. Including us of course :-).
And finally because of it we would like to wish you little bit less this civilization’s affects and more quite time without rush, but above all lot of health and good luck in New Year.

Pavel and Lenka
